California: Day 3

Are you sick of this yet? I’m sure Sarah isn’t. ;) I kinda am since I’ve been having some serious issues with photobucket today. All. Day.

Anyway, Day 3 was beach day! We had one goal: travel the coast and visit California’s beautiful beaches! The pictures mostly speak for themselves so let’s see how quiet I can be today.

Stop 1: Venice Beach Boardwalk

Almost made it through with just photos but there was one funny story that needs to be shared: as Sarah, Cate and I sped our way through the crowds on our way back to the car, Sam somehow got lost a few steps behind us. An Australian man – who wasn’t too bad on the eyes – jumped in front of us seemingly out of nowhere and stated, “3 beautiful girls need protection out here! I’m a single guy and pretty good company – ” This is where the shock subsided and we started laughing. Then Cate looked back at Sam. The guy got the idea then jokingly told Sam he needed to step it up in the protection department. Hahaha – funny bits like this you just need to remember.

Stop 2: Santa Monica Pier

I need to mention that our trip to Santa Monica Pier turned into our trip to Santa Monica Promenade which is equally exciting for an out of towner considering we had never been there and Sarah was itching to get some shopping done. No one missed the pier – but we did stop for a photo…right before we left.

There may have also been an episode in the public restrooms involving one of us three ladies saving the day for another of us three ladies that needs to be mentioned so our forgetful minds have means to remember. We’ll leave that business in Santa Monica. ;)

Stop 3: Point Dume, Malibu

I now understand what’s so great about Malibu.

Thought I might add – the weather was AMAZING all day – until we got to Point Dume. Unfortunately, that is the most beautiful beach of the three and I was hoping it’d be warm enough for us to get a little wet, but no such luck! However, when we drove the canyon road home, we ended up in the San Fernando Valley – where it was still ninety degrees! Silly Malibu weather…and yes, those were dolphins we saw in that beautiful blue-green water!

What are you thinking? I would love to hear from you!
